A new start on life, that is the way I see it. This week is the first week of the rest of my life. A week that I am going to remember and a week that will mark the final push to my goals. Yes I have been more active over that past couple of years than ever before in my life, but I am turning the next corner - the one that will lead me to achieving my goals.
I am always looking for ways to help me take my weight loss and toning to the next level. To be honest after the first 100 lb weight loss, I lost 30 more, gained it back and have been staying around 100 lbs lost. I know that is big, but for me I still have about 55 lbs more to go. I have struggled with motivation and honestly knowing exactly what to do. So I had an opportunity present itself and I had to jump at it. I was watching Facebook and Twitter and saw that Aaron Thompkins from Biggest Loser season 10 (who happens to live in Ohio, not too far from where I am) was putting together a group of 5 or so people who had 50 - 100 lbs to lose to reach there goal weight.
I love the biggest loser, and think of all of the people on the show to be celebrities in there own right. So being able to meet one is simply amazing to me. I applied for the group, and waited. After lots of applications came in, I am sure that there were so many people who would jump at this opportunity, I was one of the chosen few to join him in this weight loss journey. I found out on my Birthday - what an amazing birthday present. I was absolutely so excited to be chosen to be apart of this group. The goal is to have the trainers to teach us how to exercise and be successful, and the support system, that lets face it, if you are trying to lose weight you need. You need that aspect that keeps you accountable, during the rough times.
So Wednesday was my first time meeting the group. I was so nervous the entire trip there. But walking in I was so excited. I know that every one of us in the room are going to achieve our goals, and achieve our weight loss. I am excited to be motivated by others, and lend out some motivation when I need to. My goal was simply to focus on myself. After starting the workout I got into tunnel vision mode, and focused on myself. I powered through the workout, feeling great. I knew that I would feel it the next day - and I did:)
I know that this is the next door that I needed to open to take me to the final level of achieving my weight loss. I am so excited to see where this goes. This morning I got up and went to the pool and got in some laps. This was difficult because my sholders is where I was feeling most of the previous workout. But it felt good to get out there and stretch out. After the workout I headed to the local farmers market and picked up fresh fruit, vegitables and nuts. I know that will also help me with my diet and achieving my goals.
On a running note - my shins feel amazing. No pain. I am excited to add running back into my workout routine, as a part of it. I think that running with the swimming, and the Group Workout that I will be doing I will have a great mix to be successful in my weight loss. I am also looking forward to getting my running miles up there so I can join my running girls on some of there runs, I miss that.
